XCMG Leadership Inspires Warriors in the Earthquake-hit Area, and the Rescue Team Continues Making Achievements

August 12, 2014

August 8 is the fifth day since XCMG Rescue Team marched into the Ludian Disaster-stricken Area and worked there under great stress. All along, XCMG Leadership kept a close eye on the rescue progress in the disaster-stricken area, and showed much concern about team members’ safety and health. On the morning of August 8, Chairman Wang Min again sent to the rescue team a letter, saying: “XCMG always clings to its tradition and style by acting sincerely and working in a down-to-earth manner, which is bound to exert influence on the entire society and all users. I extend my gratitude to all warriors in the earthquake-hit area, and I hope that you will make persistent efforts and brace up to make more achievements. Also, I hope that you all are safe and take plenty of rest, and return with complete triumph!”

Solicitudes and inspirations from XCMG Leadership greatly stoke fighting will of warriors in the earthquake-hit area. Despite of the difficult conditions, harsh environment, volatile weather, living inconvenience, and being threatened by aftershock and caving-in, members of XCMG Rescue Team always held fast to their positions to provide disaster relief. Commander of the Rescue Team Xu Nan said that after receiving the letter from Chairman Wang Min, he immediately conveyed to all XCMG rescue team members the leadership’s solicitudes and requirements, and all team members were greatly inspired, saying that they will focus on the disaster-stricken area’s demands, carry forward XCMG spirit, overcome all difficulties, and organize resources in an effort to shoulder more tasks and make more contributions to the disaster-stricken area. Bian Yong, a member of the XCMG Rescue Team from XCMG Xuzhou Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., also said: “The company leadership will be assured that at the critical moment we are bound to uphold the core values of taking great responsibilities, acting with great morals and making great achievements, so as to serve well the disaster-stricken area and successfully complete the rescue mission”.

Last night, it rained again in Ludian, which resulted in collapse of roads in Xiping Village, Longjing Village and the road linking Babao Village with Longjing Village within Longtoushan Township (the epicenter). That in turn brought the urgent road repair more difficulties. All the day on August 8, XCMG equipment like Excavators and loaders etc. were deployed to serve the urgent road repair and housing collapse handling. Meanwhile, eight Excavators were deployed to those severe cave-in sections, such as Tianshengqiao Village, Shaba Village, and Yinping Village etc. of Longtoushan Township, racing against time to complete urgent road repair and clearing. It is worth pointing out that there is a 22km-long highway linking Cuiping Village, Yinping Village, and Xiping Village, which is regarded as the second traffic lifeblood in the disaster-stricken area. However, rainfall of last night made this road section extremely muddy and people being threatened by unclear caving-ins. Without hesitation, XCMG Rescue Team went all out to embark on the urgent repair under stress and in order, and eventually it received unanimous recognition from officers and soldiers of the armed police force for its superexcellent product performances. By now, this road section has been all open to traffic.

At the meantime, three XCMG loaders, which were urgently demanded by Zhaotong Highway Management Segment, were transferred to the disaster-stricken area at 15:00 on the afternoon of August 8. To ensure normal operation of on-site disaster relief equipment, a lot of loader spare parts worth about RMB 200,000 were also shipped to Ludian from Kunming. Commander of the Rescue Team Xu Nan said: “We shall spare no effort to assist in the disaster-stricken area’s danger removing & handling and road clearing, so as to ensure efficient implementation of the disaster relief work. I believe that a hope is bound to rise above ruins of Ludian after warmth and strength from people of all walks of life comes together!”
