My View on XCT80 of XCMG

 I accompanied my friend to choose a Vehicle, so I got the opportunity to visit XCMG plant. As a person who is always learning, I found many ingenious elements in the design of XCT80 during the communication with the technical personnel. I am going to share my preliminary understanding on this benchmarking product of cranes in this article.



The 12.4-47.5m arm length of XCT80 is 1m more than that of other products in the industry. The performances of its base boom and medium and full-extend boom exceed its opponents by 7%. The lifting performance of fully-extended boom exceeds its opponents by about 10% (What a great advantage…).



Its total weight is 0.5t less than that of other products in the industry, so it can carry the balance weight of 0.5t more than its opponents on the road. In general working conditions, Vehicle/ 'target='_blank' style='color:blue;'>Transport Vehicle is not needed to share the balance weight, which slashes the use-cost (and is also very convenient, aha…).



K-shaped outrigger structure is applied to XCT80 with the outrigger span of 7.9m (horizontal) × 8.075m (vertical), which is greater than that of other products, making the operation process more stable. Full-circle operation can be realized without the fifth outrigger in the front, avoiding turnover accident caused by failure to extend the fifth outrigger as I have learned from news.



XCT80’s front outriggers are connected with the chassis with the double-pin shaft structure to prevent the outriggers from slanting in normal condition, thus ensuring stability during lifting and preventing the outriggers from rising in the operation of box structure outrigger.

Low-speed and high-torque engine equipped with gearbox with high speed ratio and overdrive is applied to its dynamical system, which provides strong driving force at a low consumption of fuel. Its maximum speed reaches 80km/h while the maximum gradability is up to 40%. Its consumption of fuel per 100 kilometers is only 45L (which is really economical compared to that of some products that can be 52L).



As for braking which we are more concerned about, XCT80 replaces full drum brake with disc front & drum rear brake system. Though there is only slight increase in cost, the advantages such as stable braking performance, reliability, quick brake response, long lifespan and convenient maintenance are achieved. (As far as I learned in college, disc brake is generally applied to cars).



With regard to hydraulic system which is very professional, XCT80 replaces conventional variable motor with the high-performance one, raising the overall efficiency from 86% to over 96%. Therefore, it has more efficient system and longer service life.

It also applies pressure shut-off valve buffering technique to reduce the impact of opening pressure, stabilize motor variables, prevent pressure impact during operation and eliminate the problems of dropping and jittering in high temperature, which greatly increases the reliability of hoisting operation.



The design of XCT80 is more humanized with simple and convenient control.

XCT80 applies 2-speed control system instead of single-- speed control and is equipped with a remote-control box for switching between high-speed and low-speed modes through rotation. Herein, low-speed model features good micro-motion performance in rotation, and high-speed model is of high operating efficiency, and reliable and highly efficient balance weight engagement.



Headlamp with daytime running lamp makes the vehicle run more safely.

Air-inlet grille ensures a good heat dispersion performance and prevents engine overheat.

Passenger seat can be unfolded for temporary rest.



Front pedal and side pedal are added to the operator cab, facilitating users to get in and out of the vehicle. The pedals can be withdrawn during operation. So the design is more humanized.

Sliding door is applied to the operator cab, facilitating the operator to enter and ensures safer operation.



It applies imported high-strength steel wire rope which is rotation-proof, safe and reliable instead of domestic ordinary steel wire rope. It also replaces wedge type rope socket with bag type one to simplify replacement, dismantling and assembling without any auxiliary tools and prevent rope sockets from being damaged.




It is equipped with the outrigger control panel for electric control and offering more functions including start, flameout and operation alarm.



It is really a worthwhile visit! I immediately advised my friend to buy this vehicle. XCT80 is extremely beautiful in addition to its advantages compared to Other Vehicles. I think that it is the most beautiful Chinese crane Truck at present. It features highly humanized operation and advanced technologies nearly comparable with that of cars.
