On June 6 of the local time, the Completion and Rollout Ceremony of the XCMG Brazil Manufacturing Base, the first wholly-owned manufacturing base of XCMG overseas, was held in Pouse Alegre, Minas State. Marlow Burgess, Brazilian Minister of Industry, Economy and Development, special envoy of President Dilma Vana Rousseff of Brazil, Audayi Gonja, senator, Housaleo Neri, secretary general of Economic Development Board of Minas State, Agolaudo Beroyeni, state governor ambassador and mayor of Pouse Alegre, Wang Qingyuan, counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, Wang Yansong, vice president of XCMG, Brazilian government and industrial and commercial circles, Brazilian cooperative partner of XCMG, Chinese enterprise representatives in Brazil, Chinese and Brazilian media, XCMG Brazil Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and over 600 staff representatives of St. Paul Sales Company attended the Ceremony, witnessing the extraordinary moment together.

With a total investment of 0.2 billion dollars, the Phase I of XCMG Manufacture Base in Brazil project was started in December 2012. 18 months later, it has been completed, launched into operation and produced the first batch of products. Covering an area of 800,000 square meters, the Base contains four major production plants that cover an area of 140,000 square meters, equipped with the whole set of plant conditions including components laying off and moulding, welding, machining, painting of structural components and assemblies, assembling and testing of complete machines. The first stage of production in the newly constructed Manufacture Base includes main construction machinery products such as cranes, Excavators, loaders, Road Rollers and land levelers, forming the annual production capacity of 7,000 engineering machineries. At the same time, in order to serve the local market better, XCMG has established an R&D center in Brazil Base which integrates the technological resources of XCMG Research Institute and varies business units. With the support of the powerful centers of fundamental research, applied research, and testing and experiment research, XCMG could develop products that are more suitable for Brazil and provide XCMG Brazil Base with strong support of scientific research and technology.

As the eighth economy of the world, Brazil is in the expansion period of economic growth, having a steady demand for engineering machinery in market. The Brazil strategy is an important part for XCMG to go global and take part in global competition. At present, the sales and service network of XCMG covers each state of Brazil, with 53 second-level dealers, 16 4S shops, and 14 spare parts centers and e-commerce platforms, which provide more convenient services for customers. XCMG products are adopted in many key construction projects in Brazil. Meanwhile, it positively sponsors various sports events in Brazil. With outstanding performance and win-win concept, it wins approval and high praise from the local government and all sectors of the society. The foundation of the XCMG Brazil Base will fully improve the five core factors including marketing channels, after-sale services, spare parts supply, marketing plans and credit financing, as well as enhance the market share and reputation of XCMG‘s products, providing local customers with greater value and more value-added services.

Since its foundation 25 years ago, XCMG has been in the position of No.1 in Chinese construction machinery industry. It’s glad to hear that your Company will hold the Completion and Rollout Ceremony of the XCMG Brazil manufacturing base. On behalf of the Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Rio De Janeiro, I herewith extend warm congratulations to the completion and off-line of the manufacturing base.
As the largest construction machinery manufacture in China, XCMG has been remaining the “first place” in many aspects of Chinese construction machinery field for many years. XCMG Brazil manufacturing base in Pouse Alegre, Minas State, is the largest investment project in Brazil in Chinese construction machinery industry till now, as well as one of the largest projects in Minas State in recent years. The Completion and Rollout Ceremony of this base must start a new chapter for XCMG to develop its investment in Brazil, which will also make contribution to promoting pragmatic cooperation between China and Brazil, accelerating joint development and increasing local employment rate.
This year is just the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil.
