Komatsu Completes 10th Primary School in Cambodia

Since 2008， Komatsu Co., Ltd (Hereinafter referred to as“Komatsu”) And non-profit organizations——“Japan Landmine Disposal Support Association (JMAS, Japan Mine Action Service) ”Cooperation，Jointly launched a regional rehabilitation support project in Cambodia.，The opening ceremony of the project's 10th primary school was held in Banteay Meanchey province a few days ago.。

Vice GovernorBantaimenchai、Teachers and students of the school、Community representatives、 CMAC (Cambodian Demining Centre)、JMAS、About 400 people from Komatsu attended the opening ceremony.。Komatsu President Keiyuki Ogawa said in his speech.： “Banteay Meanchey is one of the most heavily mined areas in Cambodia，People are still suffering from the remnants of the mines.，It's really distressing.。Komatsu has been committed to supporting these areas since 2008.，Today, I can see the energetic smiles of the pupils here.，It makes me feel the significance of our continuous activities.。”

Since 2008，Komatsu has been operating in areas suffering from anti-personnel mines.，Activities range from mine action to area reconstruction。By the end of September 2022，The area of disposal of anti-personnel mines and cluster bombs amounts to 4 percent,826 hectares，Maintenance of 99 km of roads，Construction of 10 primary schools(About 800 students in total) ，Leveling 64 hectares of rice fields。In addition，Many of the graduates of the primary school have entered the university for further study.。

In the future ，Komatsu will continue to conduct landmine and unexploded ordnance clearance activities in Cambodia and Laos，And continue to carry out regional recovery support activities.。
