Gezhouba Water Control Project

Gezhouba Water Control Project is located at the end of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China，Distance to the downstream of Nanjinguan, the outlet of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River: 2.Three kilometers。It is the first large-scale hydropower station on the Yangtze River.，It is also the largest low head and large flow in the world.、Run-of-river hydropower station。Construction started in May 1971.，Work stopped in December 1972，Work resumed in October 1974，It was completed in December 1988.。The dam type is sluice dam，The maximum dam height is 47 meters.，Total storage capacity 15.800 million cubic meters。Total installed capacity 271.50 thousand kilowatts，Among them, Erjiang Hydropower Station has installed 2 sets of 170,000 kilowatts and 5 sets of 12.50,000-kilowatt generating units；Installation of 14 hydropower stations in Dajiang Hydropower Station.50,000-kilowatt generating units。Annual average power generation of 14 billion kWh。The first 170000 kilowatt unit was put into operation on July 30, 1981.。
