Liebherr sells 100,000th mixer

July 21, 2020

Liebherr announced the delivery of its 100,000th mixer Truck. This is an HTM 905, which was purchased by Heinz Transportbeton Ingolstadt GmbH & Co KG. This company has 12 mixers of the brand as well as the ultra-modern Betomat mixing tower. Heinz started 45 years ago in 1975 with a Liebherr Betomix 50.

The milestone machine is an HTM 905-5, with a nominal volume of 9 m³. Generation 5 offers a number of advantages over its predecessor: the empty weight of the Truck mixer is reduced by approximately 180 kg, thus increasing the available payload. During development, Liebherr paid particular attention to the cleanliness of the mixer Truck. Edges that are susceptible to soiling have been ground and smooth surfaces created. The result is less susceptibility to soiling and less cleaning effort.

The optional Liebherr Litronic-EMC drum controller controls the speed of the diesel engine as required when loading and unloading. The constant speed drive prevents unnecessary rotation of the drum during the journey. This saves fuel and reduces wear. In addition, Litronic-EMC increases safety by preventing operator errors, such as sudden changes in the direction of rotation. In addition, the rear control unit can be turned off during the trip so that operation by unauthorized persons is not possible.

Improved ergonomics, increased safety.

The innovative platform concept in the new Generation 5 truck mixer offers flexible attachment options for accessories. Storage compartments, supports or extension ramps can be installed in various positions. Optional equipment can also be retrofitted. All controls have been configured to be extremely easy to use.

The concrete transfer chute in the new Liebherr truck mixers can be swung completely to one side without protruding from the outside of the Vehicle. This facilitates unloading into large concrete buckets and access for easier cleaning work. The transfer chute is compensated upwards by about 120 mm, which improves the flow angle when transferring the concrete.

The storage locations are now installed a little lower on the Vehicle to make it easier to remove the extension channels. The new ladder platform provides more space, and the extension ladder is made of aluminium, is lighter and can be operated more easily.

The new angled steps and extended platform make it easier to work on top of the Vehicle in the new truck mixer. The handrails have a larger diameter for better grip. The water capacity in the mixing drum has been increased. This prevents the contents of the drum from spilling when transporting particular fluid consistencies.
