SUWNARD Tried-and-test CAP System and Hard Rock Drilling

In 2010 SUNWARD launched its SWSD series of CAP (Cased Auger Pile) followed specially with DTH hammer technology for the execution of CAP and high-effective hard rock penetration especially, recently this tried-and-tested system achieved reputed performance in the industry.

This system is typically made by an auger housed inside the casing that driven by two independent rotary table. It is an ideal technology for drilling projects in restricted urban area to eliminate vibration and disturbances to adjacent structures, reduces noise emissions and avoids waste materials due to the use of bentonite mud. Especially SUNWARD's CAP system can work with 500-2000mm Dia. of heavy-duty DTH hammer and external air Compressor to penetrate the hard rock stratum. The specially designed full hydraulic or electrical Pile Driver has a 920mm Dia. of strong mast, 80ton of rated extraction force, 5000mm of width during working to ensure its high stability and efficiency in working. The SWSD rig worked with DTH hammer has achieved wonderful performance in several tough projects in China for 500-1500mm Dia. and Max. 36m depth of cased drilling. Presently in China it is considering as an ideal system to overcome the hard drilling in complicated geological condition at favorable cost and for environment-friendly drilling in restricted urban area.

Lan Xin Double-track Railway Project,Xinjiang City

Also with its great features in hard rock drilling SUNWARD SWDM25-S showed its excellent performance in the Lan Xin Double-track Railway Project together with national conTractor XJBT (Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps). The Lan Xin Double-track Railway Project is 1776km long, of 350km/h design rated driving speed, values for €16 billion. As a part of Western Development Project of China it helps to connects western cities - Lan Zhou and Xin Jiang to capital city Bei Jing. It is the longest one-time set-up high-speed railway project in the world. Due to the very hard rock geological condition this project is considering the toughest project in China for rock drilling. In part of the piles the design requires 20m of completely continuous drill into hard sintering volcanic tuff (Rock quality designation: 95%, Uniaxial compressive strength: 184Mpa). Thanks to its unique design for rock drilling application and tools, SUNWARD rig build the benchmark of hard rock drilling. In this hard condition SUNWARD drills at 1.0m/hr of stable drilling speed with very reasonable tools wearing, helps to guarantee the on-time schedule and favorable cost for the conTractor.
