XCMG loaders distinguish themselves in serving Russian Antarctic expedition
November 20, 2010
Recently Russian Antarctic expedition team admired XCMG machinery for its high reliability and stability. XCMG ZL50G loader and TY230
Bulldozer, which were successfully shipped to Russian Antarctic Observation Station in 2009, have acclimatized themselves at once to the polar weather and provided powerful support for Russian expedition team in various scientific activities. Over the past two years, they are highly valued by Russian team for their stable performance and good running condition.
As the continent highest in altitude, the Antarctic is 2350m on average above sea level, 95% of its surface covered by ice and snow all year round. Bitter coldness significantly characterizes this continent, where the annual average temperature is -49.3°C and the absolute minimum temperature goes so far as to hit -89.6°C. Therefore, the Antarctic freezing environment poses a very high challenge to the overall performance of equipments used there. After surveying a multitude of machines produced by different manufacturers and analyzing their product parameters, Russian expedition team has come to the final decision to procure XCMG machines.
As a leading enterprise of Chinese construction machinery industry, XCMG has stuck to the development of high-end products in positioning loaders in the market for years, enabling itself to always lead the domestic technical trend of loaders and come up with high-tech products continuously. Especially in 1998, when it took the lead to produce the 3-generation loader -- ZL5OG loader relying on independent R & D and scientific advance, it really shocked its rivals at home and abroad. There are major breakthroughs in its design concept. Pilot control is applied to the working loader and makes the latter rather easy to be handled; the engine cover can be turned backwards as a whole, making repair and maintenance easy; electronic monitoring and control technology is applied to all aspects, with such options as electronic transmission and wet-type drive axle available to choice; air-conditioning and air suspension seat enable comfortable driving; the scraper bucket can be automatically laid level and lubricated; the combination of hydraulic and mechanical limits is applied to steering stop (only XCMG has such application); electric lifting position limit is available; the main articulated joint of the loader frame is located middle, making maneuver freer and reducing wear and tear of tyres. The successful development of this product has been greeted by a lot of honors: CE certification (the first winner in China), the title of "national new product", "National Award for Science and Technology Progress", "third prize in Science and Technology Award of China Machinery Industry", "third prize in "Jiangsu Province Award for Science and Technology Progress". It has been scheduled into "TOP 50 of China Machinery Industry" for several times. This product has been retaining strong momentum in sales for more than a decade, remaining first in export volume of a single machine type for successive ten years. Its outstanding performance enables XCMG to represent Chinese loaders in the international market, a common recognition well received abroad.
As a pioneer to the Antarctic, XCMG has put operation safety foremost in design and adapted its loader in technology and configuration to the extreme climate of the working environment. In view of the success of cooperation, officials of Russian observation station express their hope to continue cooperation with XCMG group.
