Moving on with a look-back: SANY's engagement with the historic moments

Since the very beginning of the journey to be an industrial difference-maker, SANY has devoted itself to the commitment to build the future a place we want to visit. After more than three decades' exploration, SANY is very proud to be a part of so many extraordinary history-making constructions that bring general good to people who spend days and years there. Those begone stories have never faded away as the time goes on but incrementally morphed into a source of power and confidence to knock down challenges one after another.

Connection with quality: SANY assists the construction of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway

In February 2020, the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway celebrated 1,000 days of operation. As a milestone in Kenya's development of transportation, this railway that connects Mombasa, the largest port in East Africa, and Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, profoundly improves the country's overall traffic condition. Since the railway started operations in June 2017, the cost of traveling and logistics from Mombasa to Nairobi has been reduced both in terms of money and time, let alone the reduced traffic, accidents, pollution, and congestion.

As an infrastructure project with the adoption of China's technologies and standard, the Mombasa-Nairobi line not only brings public good to local communities but also offers a showcase of Sino-Africa friendship with the vision to build a better living environment for the public. 

Driven by the far-reaching vision, SANY played an active role in this construction with its professional and case-tailored solutions as well as service. Apart from the Batching Plant, there were more than 120 units of SANY products including Concrete Pumps, cranes, Excavators, and Road Rollers involved in the construction. To avoid any delay of this project caused by potential machine malfunction, SANY sent a professional technical support team to the construction site and even established two warehouses of parts to ensure the smooth progress of the project. 

As one of the biggest infrastructure projects have been carried out in Kenya, the challenges put before builders were also complicated. And the biggest challenge was the special rock whose unusual hardness posed a higher requirement for abrasion resistance of the construction equipment such as Concrete Pumps, mixers, and the Batching Plant. SANY designed a particular intensified S-shaped pump tube for this project and all service engineers conducted a completed inspection of the equipment to make sure all pump tubes replaced with 5S pump tubes, a guarantee of the normal operation of the machine.

To go ahead of schedule with quality has been one of SANY's approaches to creating value for customers. It is achieved by concrete actions from every single front-line SANY staff who values efficiency, customers' concerns, and detail-oriented work attitude. When there was a need for replacement of transformer in Kenya, the shipping of spare parts from China was achieved without losing any minute to deploy it from Changsha to Lankao in Henan province to arrive at the hands who would go back to Kenya.

As one of Kenya's Vision 2030 flagship projects, the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway makes a great contribution to the local communities directly and indirectly. Its successful operation is more convincing support to SANY's mission "Quality changes the world",  and this is not a coincidence but values shared by many more mission-driven counterparts.
