Recently, the implementation plan of sichuan province's three-year action plan for promoting transport restructuring was released. According to the plan, sichuan will have nine railways and start construction on 11 by 2020. Among them, the sichuan-tibet railway ya 'an to nyingchi section will be under construction this year.

Sichuan-tibet railway starts from chengdu in the east and enters ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture via ya 'an and tianquan. After crossing the jinsha river through kangding, litang and baiyu, it entered qamdo, Tibet. After entering nyingchi via jiangda, qamdo, bangda and badu; Through bomi, nyingchi into shannan area; After sang-ri, nai-dong, gongga, west to Lhasa. Among them, chengdu to ya 'an section has been completed and put into operation, Lhasa to nyingchi section is accelerating construction, ya 'an to nyingchi section is nearly 1000 kilometers in length, early work is moving forward in an orderly manner.

The whole line of sichuan-tibet railway is 1,742.39 km, with a design speed of 200km/h and a speed limit of 160km/h for some sections. The total investment is about 270 billion yuan. Once completed, the train ride from chengdu to Lhasa will be reduced from 48 hours to about 13 hours.

The sichuan-tibet railway runs from chengdu to Lhasa via ya 'an, kangding, qamdo, nyingchi and shannan. Three sections: chengdu — Ya 'an section: design speed of 200 km/h, has been built and opened; Zhu & ndash; Nyingchi section: 998.61km pre-feasibility work has been completed, with a total construction period of 8 years; Lhasa & ndash; Nyingchi section: 403.11km (160km /h single line for general cargo) started construction at the end of 2014, and the main subgrade project has been successfully completed.

It is understood that the total length of the tunnel of the sichuan-tibet railway is 1,400km, accounting for 80% of the total length of the line, including over 200km of the line from ya 'an to xindu bridge. The total length of the tunnel is 200km. It is still under study whether the erlangshan tunnel will be a double tunnel or a double tunnel. At present, sichuan - Tibet railway ya 'an to nyingchi section will also start construction this year.
