XCMG Wold’s No. 1 Crane continues its overseas legend in Oman

In October 2019, XCMG’s 4,000t Crawler Crane, known as the World’s No. 1 Crane, made its first overseas operation and finished hoisting the 1,926t scrubbing tower in Saudi Arabia. Recently, the crane made another hoisting operation in the Sultanate of Oman. Nicknamed as the Oriental Golden Dragon and World’s No. 1 Crane, it made wonderful hoisting performance that shocked the world. Again, XCMG becomes the focal point of the Middle East and even the whole world.

At 10:00 a.m. on the morning of March 17 in local time of Oman, XCMG XGC88000 Crawler Crane started the hoisting operation in Duqm Oil Refinery of Oman Oil Refinery in the desert. The hoisted equipment in Oman was DHT (diesel hydrogen treatment) reactor weighing 970 tons. The XCMG equipment operated steadily, finishing hoisting and turning in an easy way. The performance of the crane was not impacted by desert climate. In just a few hours, the hoisted equipment was positioned in the designated place, marking the operation made complete success.

The 4,000t Crawler Crane of XCMG worked in the Duqm Oil Refinery project of Oman Oil. In the three-month construction period, 15 parts need to be hoisted by the crane, with the smallest part weighting 300t and the largest one weighing about 1,200t.

The perfect performance of XGC88000 crawler crane in Saudi Arabia aroused great attention of Oman Oil. Local staff of Oman Oil in Saudi Arabia quickly came to the project constructor SINOPEC Hoist & Transport Corporation, hoping XCMG’s 4,000t crane, immediately after finishing its work in Saudi Arabia, can make operations in Oman.

The operation coincided with the global pandemic of COVID-19. To ensure the success of the project, XCMG’s construction and service staff, while protecting their own health and overcoming many difficulties such as border entry/exit, reached the construction site in time and worked perfectly, gaining great praise from the project owner in Oman.
