Successful Trial Manufacturing of XCMG’s CES Rotary Cushion Valve Prototype through Collaborative Research and Development

Recently, a significant breakthrough has been made in XCMG’s CES product R&D project, and trial manufacturing of the electrical rotary cushion valve prototype as the key R&D object has succeeded. Machining of 5 valve bodies, assembling of 2 sets of assemblies and testing of 1 assembly have been successfully completed by the joint CES project team composed of four parties such as XCMG Hydraulic Part Company, XCMG European Research Center, XCMG Research Institute and XCMG Heavy Machinery within only 8 days and plentiful and substantial achievements have been obtained depending on XCMG Hydraulic Part Company's close cooperation in all links such as design, process, manufacturing, etc., along with the technical support from XCMG European Research Center and testing and verification by XCMG Research Institute.

As the key hydraulic control element of the turntable mechanism of the crane’s upper structure, the rotary cushion valve plays a crucial role in rotary cushioning in the actual operation process of the principal unit. It is understood that German colleagues of European Research Center not only exchanged advanced machining technologies and experience in such modes as PPT etc. but also carried out site demonstration of actual cutters including face milling cutters, end milling cutters, etc. Through one week of commissioning by China’s and foreign colleagues under high pressure, all trial manufacturing problems in the whole process involving machining tools, fixture, inspection, honing, assembling, testing, etc. have been favorably solve at final, and trial manufacturing of the electrical rotary cushion valve prototype has been successfully completed. Successful trial manufacturing of the product prototype has not only promoted the launching of CES project series products effectively, but also marked that the multi-party collaborative R&D mode of XCMG has gradually marched toward the mature stage.
