WA800-8

Vilvoorde, July 2020 - Komatsu Europe International N.V. announces the launch of the WA800-8 Wheel Loader. This machine is designed for maximum comfort and offers many customer benefits, such as the modulation clutch and variable draft control system, automatic kick-down function and engine speed adjustment. In combination with the newly adapted, extra large bucket (11.5 m2) with optimised fill factor, the WA800-8 offers outstanding efficiency.

This brand new Wheel Loader rewrites the laws of stability and offers the operator a safe feeling when working and a comfortable working environment. With an operating weight of 115 tonnes, the WA800-8 has a rated payload of 20,700 kg with standard mast.

"Komatsu also sets new standards in stability, comfort and safety. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers all this

"Our WA800 has always been appreciated for its reliability and productivity," says Jo Monsieur, Group Manager for Large Machinery at Komatsu Europe. "The new generation is now continuing this tradition. Komatsu is also setting new standards in terms of stability, comfort and safety. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers all this.

Power, performance and efficiency

Environmental protection is increasingly becoming the focus of attention worldwide and cleaner engines are being demanded. The WA800-8 engine and exhaust aftertreatment system, developed and manufactured by Komatsu, complies with the latest EU Stage V emissions standard.

This Wheel Loader also has two diesel particulate filters, two variable geometry turbochargers, cooled heavy-duty exhaust gas recirculation, a new engine management system, crankcase ventilation and does not require AdBlue®. Customers will benefit from this machine for many years to come, and with its help they will receive numerous orders.

The standard equipment also includes blades up to 11.5 m³, which have an advanced overflow protection system and a larger radius and base angle. This results in better penetration behaviour and higher filling factors, thus increasing productivity and profit. The ultra-strong teeth and enlarged clearance blades ensure longer operating times, protect the tyres and reduce maintenance costs.

With the precise Payload Weigher (PLM) as standard equipment, you can easily keep an eye on productivity and efficiency. Deviations are within 1.5%, preventing overloading of dump Trucks.

The modulation clutch provides further support for the driver. It enables precise control of the tractive force, allowing fast movements of the working equipment and careful approach to dump Trucks. The variable tractive effort control system optimises tractive effort on all surfaces, prevents slippage and reduces maintenance costs.

The machine is also equipped with Komatsu SmartLoader Logic, a fully automatic engine control system. This provides exactly the right torque for the job and the work phase in question. By automatically switching between economy and power modes, the system significantly reduces fuel consumption without sacrificing productivity.

The CLSS (Closed Centre Load Sensing System) hydraulic system provides power as required via the variable displacement piston pumps. It prevents the hydraulic fluid from heating up, while increasing working speed and fuel efficiency. The automatic idling cut-off and the eco-indications shown on the monitor system also help to reduce fuel consumption.

Together with the unique Komatsu CARE maintenance program, this machine offers unbeatable customer benefits.

Safety, reliability and durability

The new extra large ROPS/FOPS cab offers a completely redesigned, spacious, robust and safe working environment with excellent visibility of the work area. In addition, a package of 22 LED headlights as standard equipment ex works ensures better visibility and safe maintenance work in the dark.

Operator safety and confidence are further enhanced by KomVision, a camera system that provides a bird's eye view of the machine environment. This system eliminates blind spots and reduces the risk of damage and accidents. In the WA800-8, five cameras are used to generate a bird's eye view of the machine and show it on a separate display. In addition, a rear view camera is used, whose image is shown on a colour display in the cabin together with a distance line.

Steps and handrails on the counterweight ensure safe access and simplify maintenance. A hydraulic access ladder with a 45° angle to the cab is available as an option.

When carrying out maintenance work on the machine, technicians can be stationed at useful locations in the cabin.
