The route is about 92 kilometers in length, with a design speed of 80 km/h, two-way four-lane highway construction standards.
The implementation of this project will effectively shorten the distance between the southeast region of chongqing and the main city, which is an important supplement to the national expressway network, conducive to the layout of various industrial economic belts along the route, and driving the development of folk culture eco-tourism industry in the southeast region of chongqing.

The project starts from the south side of wuxi county, and is connected with G6911 fengxi expressway. It goes through phoenix, lingjiao, tangfang, wenfeng, chaoyang, shangba, shashi, yuquan, jiangkou, luyang, shuanglong, yunyang county, jinfeng, kaizhou district, and ends near houba, kaizhou district, and is connected with G69 chengkai expressway.
The highway from wuxi to kaizhou is about 119 kilometers long, with the designed speed of 80km/h and the standard construction of two-way four-lane expressway, the ratio of bridge to tunnel is 60.1%, and there are 10 interconnections (including 3 interconnections of hubs) and 3 service areas.
This project is an important horizontal expressway network in chongqing and northeast chongqing, and it is an important component of the large transit channel between the main urban area and northeast chongqing. Combined with the implementation of wuzhen expressway and shuangwu expressway, new transit routes from the main city to shaanxi and hubei will be formed smoothly.
In addition, the construction of wuxi-kaizhou expressway is of great significance to the development of hongchi dam and the tourism resources along the route.
