Reporters learned from the shandong provincial transportation work conference on January 7 that in 2020, shandong will start construction of five high-speed rail projects including the tianjin to weifang section of the beijing-shanghai second corridor, and strive to start construction of four projects including the weifang to xinyi section of the beijing-shanghai second corridor within the year. We will ensure that 14 expressways such as zaohe, jiitai and jinan dadong ring road will be built within this year, and carry out the pilot test of the middle route of jian-qing expressway.
At the shandong provincial transportation work conference in 2020, changjiang cheng, director of the shandong provincial department of transportation, introduced that shandong province will try its best to set off a new upsurge in transportation infrastructure construction this year, continue to maintain the high growth of transportation infrastructure investment, focus on key projects and engineering construction, and strengthen the efforts to strengthen the weak points of transportation infrastructure.
By 2020, shandong will start construction on up to nine high-speed rail projects to ensure the completion and opening of the weilai high-speed railway. By the end of the year, the operating mileage of high-speed railways in shandong province will reach 2,110 km. This year, construction will start on five high-speed rail projects, including the tianjin to weifang section, weifang to yantai section, laixi to rongcheng section, jinan to binzhou section, jinan to zaozhuang section. We will strive to start four high-speed railway projects, including the shandong section of beijing-xiongshang high-speed railway, the second section of beijing-shanghai high-speed railway from weifang to xinyi, the second section of the beijing-shanghai high-speed railway from Qingdao to the west, and the high-speed railway from dezhou to shanghe. We will vigorously promote the construction of five high-speed railway projects under construction, including the qufu to heze section of the lunan high-speed railway, the heze to lankao section, the jilai high-speed railway, the weilai high-speed railway and the jizheng high-speed railway.
Shandong's expressway mileage will break through 7,400 kilometers this year, returning to the top of the country. At present, shandong has a total of 23 expressways from laiwu to linyi and jinan to gaoqing under construction. Within this year, 14 expressways covering 1046 kilometers from zaozhuang to heze, jinan to taian, chengkou to zhanhua, qinglan to laiwu to taihua and jinan dadong ring will be completed. Within this year, five 588 km expressway projects will also be built, including jinan to weifang, weifang to Qingdao and connecting lines, jinan daxi ring, linzi to linyi, and xintai expressway malantun to rusu boundary. At the same time, shandong will carry out the pilot project of smart expressway from jinan to Qingdao (middle route) and smart upgrade project of jingtai expressway, and take the lead in Vehicle and road coordination, digital application of infrastructure and smart service.
In terms of the construction of port and navigation integration, shandong province will focus on accelerating the construction of major projects such as the second phase of dongjiakou port, Qingdao port, and the third phase of lanshan port, rizhao port, aiming to complete and put into operation within this year. We will start construction of large-scale specialized berths such as the nanshan LNG terminal at longkou, yantai port. We will accelerate the project to resume navigation of the xiaoqing river, and start construction of the grand qinghe waterway project of the beijing-hangzhou canal.
Shandong province will be completed within the year jinan international airport terminal area north finger corridor project, weihai airport apron and ancillary facilities expansion project; Qingdao jiaodong international airport and heze peony airport will be put into operation. Construction of the second phase of penglai international airport in yantai will be accelerated and construction of the second phase of jinan international airport renovation and expansion and the relocation of jining airport will be carried out. By the end of the year, the number of civil transport airports will increase to 10. In terms of general airport, we will strive to start construction of 4 general airport projects including jinan shanghe, Qingdao pingdu, linyi fei county and linyi linshu.
In terms of rail transit, four projects, including the second phase of jinan rail transit R3 line, line 4, line 6 and the first phase of weifang rail transit line 1, will be started, totaling 119.3 km. Three projects, including the first phase of jinan metro line R2, the northern section of Qingdao metro line 1 and the northern section of line 8, will be completed, covering 104.3 kilometers. By then, the urban rail transit mileage of the whole province will reach 328 kilometers.
