At 23:00 on September 24, the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the found of new China entered the countdown.
When the night came in Chang’an Street, Chairman Mao’s portrait on Tian’anmen Rostrum ushered a replacement once a year. This time, the constructor adopted a XCMG XCT80 Truck_crane/ 'target='_blank' style='color:blue;'>Truck Crane.
As in previous years, a number of construction workers first climbed the tower, leaned down to the hanging of Chairman Mao's portrait, and gently picked it off from the bottom, and then the portrait was lifted off with a crane. After a little while, the portrait was safely removed.

The crane raised its arm again to firmly hook the top of new portrait placed on the van, and lifted it toward the center of Tian’anmen Rostrum. The portrait was stable in the whole process. An hour later, a newly painted portrait of Chairman Mao was hanged in the center of Tian’anmen Rostrum, awaiting the world’s gaze.
